We are pleased to announce that a new version of the BackupBob desktop software for Windows and Mac has been released. This is the software that backs up your files to your backup service, and – if you have the BobDrive Sync feature enabled – powers your sync drive.

BackupBob will automatically notify you that an update is available – simply follow the instructions on your screen to perform the update.

The Mac version of BackupBob has built-in Restore capability.

The new version – version 1.7 – features a wide range of improvements to reliability, stability and speed including:
- Faster syncing of files.
- Lower memory and CPU usage.
- Backup files with exceptionally long paths.
- Improved the restore software, which supports long paths and includes better error handling.
- A number of background performance and stability improvements.
